What you can expect from us.
Tech M&A Lawyer (all genders)
+
Your role
As a Tech M&A Lawyer you work at the intersection of transactional law and artificial intelligence. You bring hands-on M&A experience into the development and application of the Lextract platform, work on real legal due diligence matters, and translate the review logic of transactional lawyers into scalable AI workflows.
As the bridge between firm partners, product and the technical teams, you make sure Lextract reflects how M&A lawyers actually think, work and decide. This is not a traditional law firm role, but it is a deeply legal one.
Core responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support on legal due diligence matters, from document review through issue and red-flag analysis to quality control
- Analyse M&A and private equity transaction processes and identify where AI can meaningfully automate or augment legal work
- Translate legal workflows, review logic, red flags and clause analysis into product-ready requirements and AI workflows
- Build and refine the legal analysis framework for clause analysis, cross-document review and due diligence reporting
- Review and validate AI-generated legal analysis against the standards expected in professional M&A due diligence
- Define evaluation criteria and quality benchmarks for legal AI outputs
- Act as the voice of the M&A lawyer in product, UX and technical discussions
- Work closely with law firm clients to understand transaction workflows and bring their feedback into the product
- Support the onboarding and training of lawyers using Lextract on live matters
- Work with product and engineering to improve the accuracy, usability and explainability of the legal AI
Required
- At least one German state examination in law with a strong result
- Professional experience in M&A and/or private equity transactions, ideally at a leading law firm
- Hands-on experience with legal due diligence and transactional document review
- A strong understanding of how M&A lawyers identify, assess and communicate legal risks
- Outstanding written and spoken English
- Pragmatic problem-solving and a strong sense of ownership
- Technical curiosity and a genuine interest in AI and legal tech
- A strong ability to translate legal reasoning into structured, repeatable workflows
- Experience working across legal, product and technical teams
Nice to have
- Experience with legal tech or AI-based legal applications
- Experience working directly with sophisticated M&A and PE clients
- Experience developing legal know-how, templates, playbooks or standardised due diligence processes
Why join us
- Equity options for the core team
- An office on Theresienstraße in central Munich
- A lean structure, fast decisions and significant ownership
- Direct exposure to leading M&A and private equity lawyers

Software Engineer, Backend & GenAI (all genders)
+
Your role
As a Software Engineer you architect and scale the AI systems at the heart of Lextract’s due diligence platform. You work at the intersection of LLM pipelines, agentic workflows and the backend infrastructure that holds it all together.
We are looking for someone with strong classical software engineering fundamentals and a real, hands-on grasp of what does and does not work when building with LLMs.
The technical challenges
- Building the full legal due diligence pipeline, from multi-approach retrieval (RAG, graph-based and beyond) to deep per-document and cross-document analysis across diverse data formats
- Designing source referencing systems for full traceability, because lawyers need to know exactly where every insight comes from
- Architecting secure, scalable APIs and data infrastructure that handle large document volumes while keeping performance tight and access controlled
- Solving the hard evaluation problem: we measure what we ship, and measuring quality in a deep, variable, domain-specific pipeline is a real challenge in itself
Required
- At least three years of full-time backend engineering experience with strong Python proficiency
- Depth on LLMs, professionally, through significant side projects or both, with a credible grasp of retrieval design, prompting, evaluation and agentic patterns
- Comfort with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS or GCP) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- A zero-trust security mindset, up to date with auth, secure cloud and data protection practice
Nice to have
- Front-end experience with TypeScript, React or Next.js
- Experience with document processing workflows
What we work with
- Backend: Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL
- Frontend: Next.js, React, TypeScript
- LLM and AI: agentic frameworks, RAG pipelines
- Infrastructure and DevOps: Docker, Azure, Terraform
What we offer
- A growing team with deep product, legal and tech expertise, focused and shipping fast
- An early-stage opportunity with competitive compensation and equity options
- Close day-to-day collaboration with the team, based out of Munich
- Ownership and clarity: end-to-end responsibility for features, minimal dependencies, fast decisions

UX/UI Designer (all genders) · freelance or part-time
+
Your role
As a UX/UI Designer you sharpen the Lextract product experience, pragmatically and hands-on. You work closely with the founders, product and engineering, find the points of friction and simplify the central screens.
This is not a full redesign brief. It is about clarity, usability and visual consistency in the existing product, without rethinking the whole workflow.
Core responsibilities
- Review and improve existing product flows, screens and interaction patterns
- Find UX friction in the core workflows, from document review through findings and consolidation to reporting
- Design pragmatic improvements that can be built quickly
- Bring visual consistency to the whole product
- Simplify complex legal tech interfaces without stripping out structure that is needed
- Translate user feedback into clear design recommendations
- Work with the front-end team on build-ready designs
Required
- Strong UX/UI experience in B2B SaaS, productivity software or complex workflow software
- Enjoyment of improving existing products rather than starting from a blank canvas
- A sure sense of the difference between a beautiful redesign and an effective usability improvement
- Thinking in workflows, states, edge cases and user intent
- Clean, build-ready designs in Figma
- Availability at short notice, freelance or part-time
Nice to have
- Experience with legal tech or other regulated professional software
- Experience with design systems and maintaining them in a team
